Lane County Bounty Relocates to Vintage Facility on Historic Farm

Lane County Bounty has begun operations in the Santa Clara community north of Eugene, formerly Tom's Orchard.

This March, Lane County Bounty relocated away from the garage & basement startup where it launched in April 2020 as a response to the pandemic emergency. After three years of learning curves & community connections, Lane County Bounty has landed in a new headquarters off of East Beacon Drive, just outside Eugene's urban growth boundary.

The new facility has increased production and cold storage space, and has potential for on-site sales and agro-tourism activities.

The farm and it's agricultural facilities were build and managed by Tom and Donna Armstrong, who farmed off of East Beacon drive beginning in the 1960's, according to this 1993 Register Guard article. The Armstrongs hosted a popular farm stand where customers could sample any of the 60 varieties of apples grown on site.

Lane County Bounty is owned and operated by Moondog's Farm. Dan & Shelley Schuler, who started both ventures, have been farming on an off-grid property in Marcola since 2016. They will continue to steward land in Marcola with a narrowed focus on dry farmed fruit trees, including apples, peaches, asian pears, plums, and apricots.

Planning for farm production at Tom's old place on East Beacon Drive are still underway but may include diverse pocket orchards and perennial herb production.
