Lane County Bounty, local grocery delivery service, launches this week

Lane County Bounty, a farmer-owned local grocery delivery service, launches in the Eugene/Springfield area this week. The service strives to create a direct connection between local agriculture and farmers’ customers who are stuck at home in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.

“Small local networks are able to adapt more quickly to regional economic changes,” says founder Shelley Bowerman of Moondog’s Farm. “Plus, farms need customers in the same way as you and I need to eat on a daily basis. We hope to strengthen this symbiosis.” In mid-March, Bowerman opened the online store as a way to connect with quarantined farmer’s market customers.

Online shoppers can now purchase vegetables, meat, and pantry items produced within Lane County. Orders are available twice a week for home delivery or pick up at more than 8 drop sites in the Eugene/Springfield area.

Products are available from multiple farms including Moondog’s Farm, Camas Swale, Redneck Organic, Fair Valley Farm, Little Wings Farm, Yep Yep Organic Farm, Laughing Stock Farm, and PK Pastures.

“Lane County has a rich local food culture, and the network is strong,” said Bowerman. “We’re excited to see where this goes.”
